MORTAL KOMBAT REBORN FOR THE BIG SCREEN!

Thursday, 29. September 2011 by Elfsar

Holly Krap!  (spelled with a ‘K’)
New Line Cinema is actually listening to fans and see the value of rebooting its Mortal Kombat movie franchise, with Mortal Kombat: Legacy director Kevin Tancharoen who used a budget of only $7,500 to design a “calling card” for a full-length feature to demonstrate what he could do with the property.
“This is my take on what I would want to do with Mortal Kombat, I would love it if Warner Bros. wanted to do it this way. But I was so passionate about doing this, that I just had to pick up the camera and do it.”
The eight-minute Mortal Kombat: Rebirth caught the attention of Warner Bros. executives, who got Tancharoen to make the 10-episode Legacy web series.
Now it looks like he will  reteam the director with Rebirth writer Oren Uziel.  Congrats Kevin!
