Well, I am taking a bit of a hiatus from blogging during the holiday break to spend time with family but I will back in 2011. So there probably will not be any posts until the new year. I hope you have enjoyed my little posts each weekday and wish you the best during the holidays with friends and family. Okay on with the final post of 2010…
The last match of the WEC ended is spectacular fashion between lightweight champion Ben Henderson and #1 contender Anthony Pettis. Many fans are calling the fight of the year. The back-and-forth war was an edge-of-your-seat roller coaster ride that epitomized what the WEC brought to the landscape of mixed martial arts.
Taking a page out of Chun Li from Street Fighter, or Neo from the Matrix, the kick was one of the most spectacular flying kicks I have ever seen in the history of MMA. Heck that fight was one of the most gratifying performances I’ve seen in a long time. What a fitting way for the WEC to have it’s final match after 9 awesome years. The kick downed Henderson immediately, but his survivability kept him in the conscious world, barely allowing him to make it to the final bell.
I don’t know how long these will last on Youtube, but we will give it a shot:
The WEC is now merging with the UFC and is adding two of these exciting weight classes to the UFC roster (see ufc-and-wec-merger). 2011 will be an exciting time for MMA.
Do you know what is awesome? Ghostbuster fans. Yeah they rock pretty hard around the world. Check out this final version of the Italian Ghostbusters fan film. The voices have apparently been dubbed using the actors that dubbed Ghostbusters originally in Italy.

Uncharted 3. For those who have not had the pleasure of playing the Uncharted series you have no idea what you are missing. Uncharted 2 alone, is worth buying a PS3 console system for (well the incredible Blue Ray player doesn’t hurt either). Check out the amazing gameplay footage from Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception on last night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon show. Jimmy Fallon is one lucky SOB as he got to play a few seconds of the new game that will not be coming out until November 11, 2011 (that’s 11.1.11 which I believe makes reference to pillars that will be featured in the game).
I am not the biggest Jimmy Fallon fan but I should point out that Jimmy Fallon treats video game developers like the celebrities they are, showing off builds of new games and interviews with their creators on his show as though they were members of the Hollywood elite.
The banter is almost as embarrassingly unwatchable as the Spike Video Game Awards but more importantly the footage itself is very impressive. You don’t really get to see Nate do much that he hasn’t in the previous games but the fire effects are superb and there’s a brief glimpse at some improved melee combat. The gameplay of Uncharted 3 already looks extremely polished and this footage offered us more insight into Uncharted 3 compared to the VGA trailer.
Also there is a Free wallpaper of Uncharted 3 at the online Playstation store to decorate your menu wall of your PS3 system.
A few weeks ago my old and outdated Photoshop kept crashing and out of frustration, I finally picked up CS5 with a couple of really cool new features. I took a look around for some tutorials to get me up to date. Do you ever find some tutorials boring or unhelpful? Want some “Edutainment”? Check out this Adobe Photoshop tutorial I found:
No, I am not talking about the movie that for sanity sake we pretend never happened. I’m talking about this little treat I recently stumbled across this via youtube. A mixture of the Movie Lionheart and the video game Street Fighter. It made me laugh a fair bit. If a game like this ever did come out, yeah I would buy it. But I just know that the combos and special moves would be so complicated to pull off. By accident you would make Van Dam do the splits all the time instead of your ultra combo special. Enjoy.
Not a whole lot different from what was released before. But there are some additional scenes in this new trailer that make it worthwhile. I think this is the first time we see Mjolnir (name of Thor’s hammer for all you non-comic book readers) return to Thor’s hand. Also we finally get a look at some of the Frost Giants

Marvel has released the first poster for its Thor movie, depicting Chris Hemsworth in the title role with Mjolnir. The film releases in 3D on May 6th, 2011.
Other cast members include Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Rene Russo as Frigga, Ray Stevenson as Volstagg, Tadanobu Asano as Hogun, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, Idris Elba as Heimdall, and Joshua Dallas as Fandral.
Ryan Woodward’s storyboard and animatic credits include work on “Where the Wild Things Are”, “Ironman” and “Spider-Man” but this fluid, expressive and exquisitely drafted short film is part of a personal art project called Conte Animated. A beautiful mixture of dance, gesture and animation.
Tons of charm and atmosphere in this cut down reel from the 12 minutes of downloadable content Axis Animation created for the new “ENSLAVED: Odyssey to the West” game published by NAMCO BANDAI.

Wow how time flies. It has been roughly 1 year since the purchase of Marvel by Disney. What has changed? Marvel cartoons have been given several time slots on the Disney Channel, comic prices have slightly reduced, comics are now sold at Disneyland, a slew of new #1′s have been produced and that true believers about sums it up.
Not as many changes as you might think from a big powerhouse like Disney. My theory is that Disney is playing a bit of a waiting game for certain contracts to expire before any big plans in terms of theme park attractions occur. So far there is no telling if Pixar will be getting any Marvel properties to work on so there is not much to report.
But let’s not forget about last month, when news spread that Disney (owner of ABC) and Marvel would be bringing some Marvel properties to the small screen, and one of them would be an Incredible Hulk show. (See david-eick-guillermo-del-toro-on-new-hulk-tv-show) There was, however, no official announcement from ABC television regarding Marvel’s statements. But, now I’ve got it from an even higher source, Robert Iger, the CEO of the Walt Disney Company.
“We’re developing three live-action series for ABC and ABC Family.”
There’s no confirmation yet on which Marvel properties will be chosen for the TV treatment.
First of all, the Hulk is definitely one of them since it is already in the early stages of development. For the other two, they will probably come from the following list, which were all pitched by Marvel to Disney as possible television adaptations:
