Elfsar Collection Ltd. operating as Elfsar Comics & Toys has recently negotiated a deal to take over a private collection and acquire over 10,000 new and old comics!
I am the first to admit that during a recession, is probably not the best time to take the risk on such a large purchase like this. But it honestly was a deal that I could not pass up. The collector in me was excited to finally be able to finish some of my own runs and now the hard work begins.
We will be adding these awesome back issues into our system slowly but steadily. It looks like we won’t be able to get thru a majority of them by FCBD, but let it be known that finding that hard to get back issue may just get a little bit easier at Elfsar in the coming months. We will keep everyone updated on the progress.
“It looks like I value comics more than sleep.” -Big Elf
I just got word from the man himself. Artist and writer Kaare Andrews (Spider-Man Reign) will be joining us this year for Free Comic Book Day on Saturday May 2nd!
No specific details are available yet, but we will make sure to update you when they are ironed out.
In the meantime, check out some of his fantastic art: HERE
“Kaare Andrews is a comics artist, colorist and also scriptwriter. He is distinguished by two drawing styles: a more realistic, which he uses on his covers, and a more cartoonesque, which can be seen in his comics pages. In the late 1990s, he started out drawing for the anthology ‘Writer’s Bloc‘, as well as the fantasy comic ‘Wonderlanders‘ and the mini-series ‘Intrigue‘ (at Image Comics). In 1999 and 2000, he began drawing for companies like Wildstorm (’Gen13‘) and Marvel (’Before the Fantastic Four: Ben Grimm and Logan‘). He did several covers for ‘Peter Parker Spider-Man‘ a year later, and became the regular cover artist of ‘The Incredible Hulk‘, during scriptwriter Burce Jones’ run on the title. He also took on manga illustrations for Wizard magazine, and cover jobs for ‘Voltron‘ and ‘GI Joe/Transformers‘. He did scripwriting and interior art on the special ‘Thundercats/Battle of the Planets‘ for DC/Wildstorm. During 2001, he also began working as an allround artist on an issue of ‘Spider-Man’s Tangled Web‘ followed by a run on ‘Marvel Mangaverse: Spider-Man‘ the following year. He did some issues of ‘Ultimate X-Men‘ and took on the writing of titles like ‘Spider-Man: Legend of the Spider Clan‘ and ‘X-Men Unlimited‘, and recently released ‘Spider-Man: Reign‘.” -from lambeik.net
Wolverine blow-up toy with an hilariously placed valve is being used by Marvel to encourage homosexuality, according to a post on Christwire.org. “I spit on you Marvel,” the post says, “for creating such filth and then trying to cover it up with lies.”
The same site says of the Watchmen online game, “This game is pure propaganda that will turn your child into a murderous, gay psycho stabkiller.”
The best part? The site appears to be supported, at least on pages where articles about homosexuality appear, by ads from gay dating sites. This over the top site is probably satire, but a very cleverly disguised one.
